I’m passing on some important information about an upcoming live webcast, so listen up. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is announcing the launch of Ask Medicare, a new initiative for caregivers. During the one-hour Webcast, you will be able to:

Post questions to CMS Acting Administrator Kerry Weems & experts from AARP, J&J, and other organizations.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know a thing about Medicare. My patients and their family members ask me questions about this kind of stuff all of the time, and I don’t know what to say. I’m glad that they are launching this new website. I’ve signed up for the webcast, and I hope you do, too.

This is a vitally important service. Your readers are probably too busy and not quite old enough to be thinking a lot about their future Medicare/Medicaid needs but they get questions from patients and they may have parents who have those needs now. Having put two sisters and a brother in law through it all, dying in nursing homes, I can tell you the process, especially Medicaid, is utterly mind boggling in complexity. Unless you have infinite patience in dealing with overworked and understaffed agencies, hire a lawyer who specializes in senior issues.
