Nurses at parties? I think we have the best of times because our sense of humor is absolutely wicked. We tell great stories and share little medical “insider jokes”.

When I worked neuro ICU we used to have some great parties on the unit at the end of shift. We served up iced drinks in new plastic urinals…. class all the way! wink

Our crowd used to go to an ostensibly man’s pub and drink pints of beer in a straight glass – none of those poncy half pints in dimpled glasses with a handle.

Didn’t take to long to discover why a beer belly is so called, and then as you say we moved on….

Ahh…memories…these young whippersnapper nurses I work with are SHOCKED AND APPALLED we would go out drinking after work when we were in our 20′s. (I’m coveting this book cover. I want it like a wanty thing)

Gosh, your post brings back memories of nursing school! My buddies and I hung out at a tacky little hole called “Joe’s Bar”—after clinicals—where we played pool and listened to music from a jukebox. I wonder if that bar is still there? One time I bet all the rough-looking guys at the bar that I could drink a waterglass full of Tabasco sauce. They put a bunch of money up on the pool table and …. I did it. Those were the days!
