Hey Bo,

I’m very interested in the stories of nurses who have “burned out.” As I am doing research for a book I want to write. I really would like to know why you burned out, what your opinion is on it. You can email me through my link, or if Nurse R. will let you post it here, that’s cool too.

I don’t miss getting up AT ALL!! I have not worked since last July and that is fine with me—I finally burnt out for good. I’m done–I’m toast. Now I can be pleasantly insane all I want…

I choose the nightshift. Always have since my second year as a nurse. It’s probably more convenient to be on days, but I can’t stand, for the life of me, getting up at 4 am, and rushing from that minute on. It kills me. I suppose I’m just a vampire by nature.

My shift started at 3:30am but I LOVE it! It’s still light out when I get home!

I get up early because of the commute. I’m doing 8 hour shifts right now. 12 hours shift will come later. God help us all.

3 is an ugly number unless it’s when you’re coming home after some late night shenanigans. Good luck at UGH.
