BTW, as a soon to be graduate we no longer get "capped" As headwear is not allowed outside surgical nursing etc, except for religous belief. We are now "pinned" by another RN who has (hopefully) made a positive impression in our li(fe)ves. I, for one am adament that NOT ONE of my clique- snobbish holier than-thou, estrogen depleted instructers will ever touch my chest with my respect and approval. Sorry to go on a tangent, however I feel so strongly that my instructors are incredibly hypicritical (ie confidentiality and HIPAA- my peds instructor stopped an elementary student in the main hall upon his leaving school due to sickness, so all 10 or so of us nursing students could openly ask health questions and physically exam him/her!!) and unwilling to review or accept new thoughts and concepts despite their advent teach of doing so.. In other words, the nursing ideas will not reform and be enlightened until the instructors advocate and model change.
